Click images to enlarge Description Hi, This auction is for a super nice marantz 5420 Stereo Cassette Deck. This deck was recently serviced - New LED VU lamps and new belts were installed. All of the input sliders were cleaned. The face plate and cabinet were cleaned. This unit is in remarkable condition and the sound production is amazing - No tape drag or distortion. Full sound bandwidth, very reliable and versatile. The only issue found during testing was that the Limiter lamp is out. I did not notice until after the servicing was done. Didn't want to pay another $80 service fee just for 1 lamp. This machine is an absolute must for anyone in the market for vintage deck. Doin't sleep on it... It will make a great addition to your vintage gear collection. Thanks for buying Description
The Marantz Model 5420 is more than just a stereo cassette deck, it's a four-channel input active mixer with panpots, a Dolby Noise Reduction System, and a rugged, reliable, cassette recorder with ferrite heads, all built in a single unit.
Even though they share a common chassis, these three building blocks retain the flexibility of separate components. The mixer section and/or the Dolby System can be used on external equipment, such as a reel-to-reel tape deck or public address system, independently of cassette operation.
The 5420 also has the circuitry necessary to decode Dolby FM broadcasts, and special bias and equalization to record on Chromium Dioxide and Ferri-Chrome low noise cassette tapes.
