The 4329P Studio Monitor wireless speaker system from JBL has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, plus digital and analog inputs (shown in walnut).
High-performance powered hi-fi speakers
JBL's 4329P Studio Monitors give you hi-fi sound in a robust powered speaker pair. It's a big reminder of JBL's heritage in the control rooms of many a high-end recording studio.
You can use these speakers in your studio for accurate audio reproduction. Or enjoy high-quality home listening with your favorite wireless streaming options. They also include plenty of wired digital and analog inputs.
With their furniture-grade wood veneer finish and retro-styling, they'll look great wherever you place them.
Formidable power and horn-loaded tweeters
The 4329P's built-in Class D power includes four discrete amplifiers — one for each driver. It sends 50 watts each to the horn-loaded tweeters and 250 watts each to the 8" woofers. That eliminates the need for passive crossovers and ensures a tailored response for agile, detailed, and muscular sound.
The power to thrill
The 4329Ps are descended from storied JBL studio monitors, and it's remarkable how much these speakers sound like much larger passive JBLs I've heard in recording studio control rooms — and in state-of-the-art PA systems we've all experienced in venues from packed nightclubs to cheering stadiums.
The kinship is there with these speakers. They retain detail while delivering undeniable bass that vibrates nicely in your bones at reasonable volumes. They also have the amplifier power to blow your hair back and even overwhelm you — and it's a thrill to crank them.
I set up the 4329Ps with a Bluesound NODE streamer. I had several options for hooking it up, but I chose to test these speakers with the NODE's built-in DAC using a pair of 1/4" adapters I already owned. On Ray Price's 1963 version of “Night Life” this setup delivered attention-grabbing, distinct instrument presence — including a delicious rendering of Buddy Emmons' pedal steel guitar — with an appealing stereo soundstage.
The title track of Steely Dan's Aja
sounded muscular and full, and I picked out something new — to me — among the song's clearly rendered details: a pair of what sounds like nice ringing open-string rhythm guitar chord moments in the instrumental bridges. And the 4329Ps delivered a stunning presentation of the tumbling tom-toms in Steve Gadd's drum breakdowns.
Control in your hands
Front-panel and remote controls let you power on and off, switch sources, control playback, and more. The free MusicLife app for Apple® and Android™ devices gives you another control option.
But with Bluetooth, Roon, Chromecast built-in, and Apple AirPlay 2 all native to the 4329P, you can do pretty much everything from within your smartphone's streaming apps.
Flexible connections and high-res DAC
You can connect the 4329P to your home network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Its combination XLR/TRS input lets you add analog sources with a balanced or unbalanced connection. There's also a 3.5mm analog aux input, plus an optical digital connection. An asynchronous USB input lets you connect a computer and enjoy precise sound with your stored digital music files.
The system's built-in DAC supports high-res audio, and with the primary and secondary speakers connected wirelessly, you'll get 24-bit/96kHz resolution. Use the included Digital Link cable to reach the system's maximum resolution of 24-bit/192kHz.
You can connect a powered subwoofer for more oomph
in the low frequencies — and more headroom in the 4329P, since it automatically engages an 80Hz high-pass filter.
Pair them with matching stands
Elevate these large monitors and give them a slight backward tilt with JBL's heavy-duty matching JS-80 speaker stands.
